Multi-Purpose Chair
Technical Information
Construction of this chair utilized CNC and woodworking methods, and future iterations of the design will involve higher quality wood and finish with stronger hinges. A stronger locking mechanism will also be implemented to secure the chair into each orientation and add safety precautions.
This proof-of-concept wooden chair was devised to improve upon the utility of a typical chair in that it can be adapted to accommodate multiple people, as well as provide storage underneath. It is easy to use, and simply requires the user lower the backing. The supporting legs fall automatically and support a second person, converting a normal chair into a bench.
